Installation of Residential Garage Floor Tiles

The garage floor tiles we sell use a loop to peg system that locks in place with minimal effort. All the interlocking floor tiles on the site snap easily and do not come apart when heavy vehicles are placed on top. All the interlocking floor tiles have the same basic principle of interlocking together to form a larger floor. If you are creating a design with various colors, we recommend installing the interlocking tiles one row at a time making sure that you are following the color combination.

Step 1: For the purpose of this example, you will need the following items.

•    400 Garage Floor Tiles (400 sq ft)
•    2 edge kits with loops (24 garage tile edges)
•    Gloves (optional)
•    Rubber Mallet (optional)
•    Two sided tape (if floor tiles will be used on a painted or smooth surface)

Step 2: Please notice that there is a correct way and an incorrect way to install the tiles. When snapping the tiles together, make sure the loops are facing away from each other. Please review the image below (Figure 1) for an illustration.

Step 3: On Figure 2, we show you a typical two-car garage that measures 20’ x 20’ or 400 sq ft. We recommend you to start the installation of the garage floor tiles from the entrance of the garage. Install the garage tiles one row at a time as per the illustration. Please make sure you leave enough room for the edges on the entrance of the garage and that you leave a 1/2" gap on each side for expansion purposes. The high-impact polypropylene copolymer (high impact plastic) tiles will expand and contract due to temperature fluctuation.

Step 4:  If you followed the instructions above, you will need the edges with loops for the entrance of the garage. You can snap them one across the entrance to finish your product.

Step 5:  In many instances, the garage is not an exact 20' x 20' so you may have to cut the tiles to fit. You can use an electric jig saw to cut the tiles. Make sure you use a fine blade to cut the tile.
